I called what I thought to be HP Instant Ink. The Rep had an Indian-sounding accent. I told him my ink charge came early this month and was higher than usual. He asked me if I had a printer in Pennsylvania. I told him I did not. He said that someone charged the ink to my account from Pennsylvania and that my account had likely been hacked. He said he needed to see the vulnerabilities in my computer and I let him in. He tried to charge me almost $600 for a lifetime firewall or almost $300 for a 2 year subscription. I told him I would look into it and said I was going to research it. He showed me all the different IT addresses of hackers who had access to my computer and said if I disconnected, they would all be able to see what we had discussed. I told him I was hanging up. I spoke with HP later and they said I had been hacked. I turned off and disconnected my computer and changed my credit cards and my logins. I just have to clean the computer now.
