HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-in-One Printer

HP has outsourced its ink services. HP Ink temporarily deactivated my business printer because we paused ink delivery. When we contacted their customer service (located outside of the US), we spent several hours with multiple representatives. They informed us that if we declined the monthly ink delivery, they would deactivate our printer and prevent it from printing. Additionally, they mentioned that the inks we had already purchased and paid for would not function. It's advisable not to invest your time or money in this questionable business practice. Consequently, we chose to disconnect the printer and purchase an Epson printer. We have no intention of financially supporting HP any longer. This situation appears to be fraudulent, and the company responsible for this is situated overseas, implying involvement with unscrupulous individuals.

It's truly shocking that a company of HP's stature would permit such a situation to occur.

The above is one of the biggest misconceptions regarding the Instant Ink program.  When you sign up for the Instant Ink program you are NOT purchasing ink, you are purchasing a subscription to a set number of pages per month.  The ink is supplied, but remains the property of HP and must be returned if you cancel the program in accordance with the terms of service.  See sections 5.d and 9.c of the terms of service here.

The printer can still be used, but you will need to replace the HP Instant Ink cartridges with retail cartridges.
