Hello Lauz79,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If you're experiencing issues with your printer not working despite having an HP Instant Ink plan, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

  1. Check Printer Connectivity:

    • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, make sure it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  2. Verify HP Instant Ink Subscription:

    • Log into your HP Instant Ink account to confirm that your subscription is active and there are no issues with billing or service.
  3. Ink Cartridges:

    • Double-check that the ink cartridges are correctly installed in the printer. Make sure there is no protective tape left on the cartridges.
    • Ensure that the cartridges are genuine HP Instant Ink cartridges as other cartridges might not work with the plan.
  4. Check for Error Messages:

    • Look at your printer's control panel or display screen for any error messages or blinking lights that might indicate what the issue is.
  5. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    • HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows that can help you diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. You can find it on the HP support website.
  6. Update Printer Software and Drivers:

    • Ensure your printer's software and drivers are up to date. You can download the latest versions from the HP website. You might also need to update any firmware available for the printer.
  7. Restart Your Devices:

    • Try restarting both your printer and your computer. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity or software glitches.
  8. Test with Another Document:

    • Attempt to print a test page or a different document. This can help identify if the issue is isolated to a specific file.
  9. Contact HP Support:

    • If you’re still unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to HP Support for assistance. They can provide guidance specific to your printer model and subscription.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the printing issue with your HP Instant Ink plan. If further help is needed, contacting HP support would be the next best step.
