HP office-Jet 3833

I got a HP Office-Jet 3833 printer last month to make life easier printing things at home, however this frustratingly not the case!

After having many issues setting up the instant ink service to begin with, we now have a new very frustrating problem.

We can not print out in colour from my partners PC (ACER), however, this will at least allow us to print both sided.

From my Mac, I can print in colour no problem, but it will not let me print both sided, meaning we are wasting twice the amount of paper for no reason, and causing a great amount of frustrating and time wasting in the process.

I would please love some advice on how to fix this issue before I have to return the printer as in this current state it really does not fit my needs.

Many thanks,

DA

Hi @DA91

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

On the WIn PC, try these steps:

This seems like an issue with the printer driver. Let us try these steps:

  1. On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
  2. Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
  3. Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
  4. Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless icon on the printer screen
  5. Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
  6. Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Try printing in color.

If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.

On the MAC, install the printer using AirPrint driver. Refer to this document to know how to print on both the sides.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
