Hi @Bernadine3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 4522 printer is indicating an issue related to HP Instant Ink. HP Instant Ink is a subscription service that sends you ink cartridges based on your usage. Here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:
Check Ink Levels: Make sure that your printer is not out of ink. Even if you are subscribed to HP Instant Ink, the cartridges might run out if there's a delay in receiving new ones.
Check Printer Status Online: Log in to your account on the HP Instant Ink website (www.instantink.com). Verify that your account is active, that your billing information is up-to-date, and that there are no service interruptions or holds that could be affecting your subscription.
Update Printer Firmware: Sometimes, ensuring that your printer's firmware is up-to-date can resolve communication issues with HP Instant Ink. You can update the firmware through the HP printer software on your computer.
Connectivity Check: Verify that your printer is properly connected to the internet, as HP Instant Ink requires an active internet connection to monitor ink levels and manage your account.
To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:
• Registered email address and the serial number of the printer.
Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
