By mistake I installed Smart + & HP has blocked me from using my printer for not having HP ink. 1 year ago I paid good money for this printer I should be able to use whatever ink I want & do what I want with it.  [edit]

If you are referring to having signed up for HP+ service and contract and / or an HP Instant Ink subscription service, one or more of the following might apply to your situation.

Speak with HP+ Support about whether you can cancel an HP+ contract after the fact.

 

Printer and HP+ service

 Contact HP+ Support

If needful, change your Country / Region

 

Note that HP+ assistance is only available for registered HP+ printers.

 

Reminder

An HP Instant Ink subscription is not required as part of the HP+ setup or HP+ service.

Which Ink Can be Used in the Printer?

 

HP printers that are eligible for HP+ -- and even when not signed up for HP+ service  -- require HP chipped ink cartridges. 

 

In general, HP printers require the use of HP chipped ink cartridges.

 

If you are unsure whether your printer qualifies for this limitation, check the Specifications for your printer.

 

Not all refill / third party manufacturers use HP chipped cartridges.  Contact your ink supplier and ask whether the ink you purchased meets the requirement for HP chipped cartridges.
