HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer

My printer was working fine until I installed ink cartridges that I bought from Instant Ink. Both my previous printer & my current printer use the same ink.  Now my printer won’t print, saying that it is not from Instant Ink.  I have an account there but I can’t get hold of them.  My printer is turned on but it won’t print - I informed Instant Ink immediately when the transaction occurred - and they still bill me - now I cannot get hold of them - it’s all about the cartridges I installed, purchased from them!  Please help me.

Hi @Gayle83,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer after installing ink cartridges from Instant Ink. If your printer is displaying a message that it's not recognizing the cartridges, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue.

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure the cartridges are installed correctly. Open the printer's cartridge access door, remove the cartridges, and then reinstall them carefully to ensure they are securely seated.
  • Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Sometimes, the metal contacts on the cartridges can get dirty, which can interfere with communication between the cartridges and the printer. Gently clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or an alcohol wipe.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and see if the issue is resolved.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for and install updates from the printer's control panel or HP's official website.
  • Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. Consult your printer's user manual or HP's support resources for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  • Use Original HP Cartridges: In some cases, using third-party or refilled cartridges can lead to compatibility issues. To ensure optimal performance and avoid potential problems, it's recommended to use genuine HP cartridges.

Remember that using Instant Ink cartridges with an Instant Ink subscription is generally the best way to ensure compatibility and a consistent supply of ink for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
