HP8720 WONT INITIALIZE WITH INSTANT INK

So I have had a 8720 for about a year or so and I am inrolled in instant ink. However the printer randomly stooped printing color. So online it told me to reset the printer and since all i have are instant ink cartridges it wont let the printer initialize. can someone please help.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

To assist you better, what is the error message on the printer?

Have you checked your HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.

 

For now, let us try these steps:

  1. Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
  4. Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
  5. Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.

Make sure the printer is connected to the Internet. Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
