HP Deskjet 3720
Unknown

I have been trying to print out boarding passes on my HP Deskjet 3720. None of the black shows up. I've done an align; most of the lines don't print, so I can't use that tool. I've done several head cleans, both level 1 and 2. Nothing changes. The test pages are very faint and incomplete. The ink supplies are apparently practically full. I don't use the printer very often, so I'm sure the levels are actually OK. The last time I had similar symptoms (I've only had it 18 months!) I put in new ink cartridges, even though it didn't say I needed it, and strangely it worked (for a while). But surely I shouldn't need to replace the cartridges when they are indicating practically full!? Also, I'm on Instant Ink, so I won't get any new cartridges if they are showing full, whether they are working or not. Not happy 😞

Soak the printhead (bottom of cartridge) in 1/4 of hot water for a few minutes, dry it & try printing.
