Hp 6970 printing problems

Help I cancelled the HP instant print contract after 3 years (only ever received one supply of ink) because my printer stopped working due to a fixed printhead problem. I’ve now just replaced the printhead but cannot prove if it works because I have a message saying I must re-enroll in instant ink to use the existing cartridges! If I rejoin instant ink I’m committed to a minimum contract for a printer that might still not work grr. Any advice welcome.

Instant Ink cartridges remain the property of HP and are yours to use during the time the contract / subscription is active.

After the contract for the Instant Ink Subscription is cancelled or terminated for any reason,

The Instant Ink Cartridges are must be removed from the printer and should be returned to HP.

At the very least, the Instant Ink cartridges must be removed from the printer.

Instant Ink cartridges lock after contract termination and cannot be used in the (or any) printer.

All the details / information are included in your regional Terms of Service Contract in section Cancellation.

The new Printhead might (should) have come with Setup cartridges.

Setup Cartridges are special cartridges used to for "first time" ink system initialization.

Even if you are positive you don't need the Setup Cartridges, you still need new, unused ink cartridges (not Instant Ink).
