Hi @GlynUK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 5030 printer is not accepting non-HP ink cartridges after canceling your ink subscription, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes, printer firmware updates include restrictions on using third-party ink cartridges. Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model and install it if there is.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to its default settings. This might clear any settings that are preventing the use of non-HP ink cartridges. You can usually find reset options in the printer's menu or by consulting the printer's manual.
  • Disable Automatic Updates: Some printers have settings that automatically update firmware or install updates from HP. If this is the case, disabling automatic updates might prevent the printer from implementing restrictions on non-HP ink cartridges in the future.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
