Hi @ DJMajestik15,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing difficulty registering your HP OfficeJet 8012e All-In-One Printer on both WiFi and USB, even after performing a cold reset and restoring factory defaults. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

WiFi Connection:

  1. Ensure Proper WiFi Setup:
    • Make sure that your WiFi network is working properly.
    • Double-check the WiFi credentials (SSID and password) you are entering during the registration process.
  2. Manual Network Configuration:
    • Manually configure the printer's WiFi settings. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel.
    • Follow the printer's manual for instructions on manually entering WiFi settings.
  3. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
    • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can interfere with the registration process. Temporarily disable them and see if the registration completes.
  4. Update Printer Firmware:
    • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP support website to download the latest firmware for your printer model and follow the instructions for updating.

USB Connection:

  1. Driver Installation:
    • Make sure you have installed the correct drivers for your printer on your Windows 10 64-bit system.
    • Download the latest drivers from the official HP website.
  2. USB Cable and Port:
    • Ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
    • Try using a different USB port on your computer.
  3. Driver Reinstallation:
    • Uninstall the printer drivers completely and then reinstall them. To do this, go to "Control Panel" > "Devices and Printers," right-click on your printer, and choose "Remove device." Then reinstall the drivers using the latest ones downloaded from the HP website.
  4. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Make sure your Windows 10 operating system is up to date. Check for and install any pending updates.

General Tips:

  1. HP Smart App:
    • Consider using the HP Smart app for the setup. It can simplify the process and often provides step-by-step guidance.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
