SECOND UPDATE: I was able to get through via phone to HP support. It was a defective cartridge and they are sending a new one.

UPDATE: I tried the cleaning the contacts with a toothbrush. No success.

I have a new printer cartridge that is not communicating with the printer. I have run all of the suggested troubleshooting methods and no change. I know it it is the printer cartridge because I replaced the new one with an old one and the printer functioned. I have been stuck in the HP virtual assistant loop and the voicemail loop with no resolution.

I am enrolled in the instant ink program and would just like a replacement cartridge for the defective one.

Any tips on how to communicate with HP on this?
