I already have a black cartridge in use from before joining the instant ink plan. But my plan is charging me for the black only prints? I have no problem for the colour prints as I have inserted the hp colour cartridges but I've not yet inserted the black. How do I get the black only prints taken off my monthly allowance?

If any Instant Ink cartridges are installed in the printer then any pages printed will be counted toward your Instant Ink usage.  To prevent the pages being counted toward your subscription limits remove any Instant Ink or Instant Ink Ready cartridges before printing with non-Instant Ink cartridges.

If you will be leaving the cartridges out of the printer for more than 30 minutes then store them as shown in the document here.
