I have a Hp Inkjet 8020 printer. I have run out of black and haven't received notice of it being shipped on my Instant Ink account. What can I do? Can I use a store-bought cartridge till this can be taken care of?

The document here has information on contacting HP to get replacement Instant Ink cartridges.  Go to the HP Instant Ink site, the phone number (or chat option for some countries) will be listed in the lower center of the opening screen.  I would suggest signing in (in upper right corner), you can then check the shipment status.

You *can* use retail cartridges, with some caveats:

  • If you have any Instant Ink cartridges installed then any prints will be counted toward your monthly usage.
  • Retail cartridges will not report the ink levels to the Instant Ink servers and will not trigger ink shipments.  If you are going to install one or more retail cartridges I would suggest you first make sure the Instant Ink cartridge(s) are already queued for shipment.
