I have recently sold my printer.  I am trying to get it ready for shipping out, and I can not remove it from the instant ink account, because it does not list that I have any printers currently enrolled.  However, from the dashboard it has this printer listed and connected, and since I have cancelled my subscription to instant ink, it says that they printer can not print. How do I fix this?  Factory reset did not work.

If you are having trouble removing a printer from your Instant Ink account, you can try the following steps.

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  • Click on the "Printers" tab.
  • Locate the printer you want to remove from the account.
  • Click on the "Remove Printer" option.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the removal process.

I hope this helps.

If the printer was subscribed to Instant Ink but that has been canceled the Instant Ink cartridges will need to be replaced with retail cartridges for further printing.

Please read this post and then provide some details.  What printer model?  If your printer has separate ink cartridges and printhead the printer should not be left without all the cartridges installed, as this could damage the printhead.  In that case you should not remove the Instant Ink cartridges until you have replacement cartridges ready to install.
