HP Instant Ink

I re-registered my printer for instant ink and was sent new ink cartridges. When I installed them it displayed a message stating that the new cartridges are not intended for use in this printer. I attempted to contact support and cannot reach a live person to figure out how to resolve this issue. I have used instant ink the past and had no problems.

Hi @DreaLynn ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your HP Instant Ink and the new cartridges. Since you're having trouble reaching support directly, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridges you received are indeed compatible with your printer model. You can do this by checking the compatibility list on the Instant Ink website or using the information provided in the printer manual.

Reinstall Cartridges: Try removing the new cartridges and reinstalling them. Make sure they are properly seated and securely installed in the correct slots.

Restart Your Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve communication issues between the printer and the cartridges.

Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can address compatibility issues and improve overall performance. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.

Check for Instant Ink Account Issues: Log in to your Instant Ink account online and make sure that your printer is correctly registered. Verify that the cartridges associated with your account match the ones you received.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks so much, but I was able to reach someone in HP support to get new cartridges. Now that they're installed my printer is stuck on the "now printing alignment page" I cannot cancel or get to the home screen and no matter how long I leave it on for it doesn't print.
