I have no idea what an instant ink cartridge is, my printer uses regular 301 cartridges.
My black ink cartridge had ran out, so I went and got the exact replacement at Argos. When I inserted the ink cartridge, it came up with a message on my printer saying "Incompatible Ink Cartridges - Black. The cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured."
I have no idea what that means.
I have been on forums and the internet for 3-4 hours, trying to find any solution but all were useless. I have done every thing I could have. I have done all the resetting, turning it off and on, putting the old one in and then the new one, and etc.
I even went and got a replacement for a new ink cartridge and the same message still comes up. It comes up when I put in the old or new one.
The coloured one works normally.
The protective strips are off and it is inserted right.
Printer is not damaged as it was working literally a week ago.
The printer light for the black ink cartridge flashes slowly.
At this point, I am considering getting a printer that isn't HP, any help would be greatly appreciated.
