Ink Cartridge problem HP Connected

OfficeJet 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I received a ned tri-colour cartridge via HP Connected a few months back and have just fitted it but am getting a message indicating there is a problem with the cartridge. When I re-fit my old cartridge (which still has a tiny amount of ink left) the printer is ready to go with no error messages. Tried re-fitting a number of times with the same result. Does anybody have a phone contact number for someone at HP Connected who can sort this problem out. I have spent the best part of an hour trawling through the HP website trying to find a contact number or chat facility without success and it's driving me mad!

Ink Cartridge problem HP Connected

@rsw4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Are you enrolled in Instant Ink? Does the ink cartridge say Instant ink on it?

For now, let us try these steps:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Also, perform solution three mentioned in this document.

Let me know how this goes.
