I was printing 2 days ago and everything was fine. Then suddenly I got a "cartridge error". I removed the ink and cleaned what I could. They are hp ink cartridges and relatively new. Today I unplugged everything and wiped off the copper connectors for the cartridges. Still the same message for the color cartridge: "incompatible cartridge".

Hi @Katiegans

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are not able to print due to an ink cartridge error.  If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document and the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

 

Note: This printer supports printing in single-cartridge mode. You may remove the defective ink cartridge and continue printing.
