HP Officejet Pro 6960 and my black ink cartridge has simply stopped printing. Other colours working perfectly. I have cleaned heads aligned heads updated apps reinstalled the software and no change. I have instant ink but as it is seeing a fairly recent cartridge install it is refusing a reorder. Am I missing something? I really don't have time for this!

HP 933 XL Magenta cartridge is not being read by the printer.  Error msg:  One or more cartridges are missing or damaged.  I have two sets.  I have had the chips replaced.  All printer updates are current.  I have trouble shooted as shown.  Do I go out and buy a single magenta cartridge?  Or is my HP 6700 All In One Premium DeskJet in need of repair?

Note: Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution:

Click here for steps on finding the information we need!

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Meanwhile, try the below steps:

Step 1: Verify the cartridge numbers

Make sure the cartridge numbers match your printer and where the country/region the printer was purchased.

Go to HP Store and verify the cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible cartridges.

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

I decided to purchase a new HP printer. From other recommendations I received, it is not worth repairing.  I followed all troubleshooting instructions to no avail. Thank you.
