I am very upset.  I have several unopened ink cartridges that will no longer work due to the fact that I canceled my Instant Ink subscription?  I canceled my Instant Ink subscription because I was receiving more ink cartridges that I needed.  I paid for these ink cartridges and now I can't use them?  This is very upsetting.  Can something be done?

Hi @Maria198,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an Instant Ink issue cartrdige issue. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To answer your question: Instant Ink Subscription is charged based only for the number of pages you print not for the inks which HP sends you. Also once you cancel the subscription you will be to use the inks only till the end of your billing cycle, later you will not be able to use the inks as it has be retured back to HP Instant Ink Team.

Cancelling Instant Ink service

  1. If you cancel: You can continue printing with Instant Ink supplies until the end of your current billing cycle.
  2. At the end of the billing cycle, you must replace Instant Ink supplies to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
  3. Your final monthly charge comes at the end of the billing cycle.
  4. The Paper Add-on service ends with your Instant Ink service.
