Inkjet vs Laser Printers

HP Recommended

I have a pretty complicated situation. I’m debating whether to buy a laser or inkjet printer for Boxing Day and after reading a few articles, I’m still a little confused. I print very rarely and if I do, it’s only black and white or full blown colour. I currently have a HP OfficeJet (inkjet) which I really hate as the ink is extremely expensive and runs out very frequently, most likely from drying out. I’m leaning towards a laser printer, but I have heard that the toner cartridges break often. I’m looking to spend around CAD $200. So, which type of printer do you recommend, inkjet or laser?

Thanks!
