Hi @Jaimo5625,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check if the Printhead is Securely Installed:
- Open the printhead access door.
- Make sure both the black and color printheads are securely installed and properly closed.
- Ensure there are no obstructions or packaging materials blocking the printhead carriage.
Clear any Obstructions:
- Check for and remove any jammed paper or debris that might be blocking the printhead carriage.
Identify Faulty Cartridge:
- Refer to the control panel display to identify if it is the black or color printhead that requires attention.
- Ensure there is no orange plug or plastic tape on the printhead.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back in and turning on the printer.
Check for Specific Error Codes:
- Error A: Indicates a printhead alignment issue. Align the printheads by placing the alignment page on the scanner glass and following prompts.
- E1 or E2 Error: Paper mismatch error. Ensure the paper loaded matches the size settings.
- E3 Error: Carriage jam. Clear any jammed papers and ensure the printhead carriage can move freely.
- E4 Error: Paper jam. Clear any paper jams and reload paper correctly.
- E5 Error: Scanner error. Restart the printer to resolve.
- E6 Error: General error state. Reset the printer by turning it off and unplugging it, then plugging it back in after a minute.
- E7 Error: Priming system failure. Contact HP support for assistance.
I hope this helps.
