I just canceled my insta ink subscription but don't have the cartridges to send back...they went away with the printer.  What do I need to do? What happens when you don't send back the cartridges upon cancellation?

Did you pass the printer on to someone else or recycle it?  Please be aware of a few things

  • HP Instant Ink cartridges do not work after the end of your current billing period,
  • There is no pro-rated reimbursement for the remainder of your billing period.
  • Your service continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • If there are any charges for additional printing, your credit card will be charged. Depending on when you cancel, the charge might appear the following month.

If you gave or sold the printer before the end of your last billing period be aware that the new user may print pages that will be charged against your account if the printing exceeds your existing plan and rollover pages.  Also, note the Instant Ink plan bills in arrrears.  Your last bill will happen after the account ends.
