Instant Ink and Officejet Pro 7720

We recently bought an Officejet Pro 7720 printer direct from the HP shop in the UK and have just installed it into our office only to find that it doesn't qualify for the Instant-Ink scheme. Naively we assumed that all HP printers were available with Instant Ink if we wanted, so perhaps you can explain why this one doesn't?

Why?

HP does not tell those of us outside of HP the why, how, where -  the decision might be based on more than one factor - possibly including the potential size of the market, the availability of postal services -- could be any reason.

Just checked the UK store.

It is true that as of this writing, the check for a compatible printer is apparently more complicated than simply looking up the printer on a chart of supported printers for the region.
