After being away I came home and my printer is not connected to instantink. Everything else is working, however I can not print ANYthing. I spent over 3 hours with customer support yesterday and still nothing, I do not believe this is on my end as this has happened with instant ink once before a long time ago. They tried everything. I NEED to print, I work from home. What can be done. Do I need to cancel Instant Ink so I can print!?

Hi @Karen-2023,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues connecting your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer to the Instant Ink service, there could be several reasons for this problem. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Printer Connectivity:
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You might need to access the printer's settings menu to connect it to your network.
- Verify that your internet connection is stable and working properly. Sometimes connectivity issues can stem from problems with your network.
Printer Firmware and Updates:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues.
- Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
Instant Ink Account:
- Verify that your HP Instant Ink account is active and properly linked to your printer.
- Log in to your Instant Ink account to ensure there are no issues with your subscription or billing.
Printer Registration:
- Check if you have registered your printer with HP Instant Ink using the correct printer's serial number and other required details.
HP Smart App:
- If you're using the HP Smart app, make sure it is installed on your device and is up-to-date.
- Use the app to add your printer and manage Instant Ink settings.
Printer Reset:
- Sometimes performing a printer reset can help resolve connectivity issues. Consult your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Check if any firewall or security software on your network or device is blocking the printer's connection to the internet.
Router Settings:
- Ensure that your router's settings are not preventing the printer from accessing the internet. You might need to open specific ports or adjust security settings.
Physical Connections:
- Ensure that all cables and connections between the printer and your computer/router are secure and undamaged.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
