I have instant ink, but while printing today I started an image on high quality, but after about 10% of the picture printed the color shifted. Attempting to clean the print heads and printing the test page (do these count against our page limits?) I can see there is no magenta. At all. Not a even a faint drop. Zero. Nothing. I've run the head cleaning at least 4 times now and  there is just no magenta coming out at all. I remove the cartridge to look wipe it and it makes not difference.

 

I think this cartridge is faulty, but there doesn't seem to be any way to return a faulty cartridge and get a replacement?

The document here has information on contacting HP to get replacement Instant Ink cartridges.  Go to the HP Instant Ink site, the phone number (or chat option for some countries) will be listed in the lower center of the opening screen. 

 

Alternately, you can click on the Virtual Assistant.  When the assistant opens type "Where is my ink?" (w/o the quotes).  The system will ask a few questions and then schedule your shipment.

 

Note - all pages printed with any Instant Ink cartridge(s) installed will count against your monthly usage.  When you speak to the agent you may want to ask if they can adjust things based on the number of pages you used in debugging the issue,
