My HP5055 spontaneously disconnected from my wifi network, and when I try to reconnect, I only get an erroneous “Cartridges cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink" error message on my printer screen.
I am enrolled in Instant Ink. I’ve confirmed my subscription online and it notes no problems.
I tried using various HP tutorials on reconnecting to my network (on both the App and my Instant Ink account), and none are successful, perhaps because my printer itself is stuck on the incorrect message about my Instant Ink subscription.
Nothing I’ve come across addresses the simultaneous problem of being disconnected from the Wifi network and experiencing the erroneous message about Instant Ink.
I’ve tried:
- Rebooting my router.
- Rebooting my computer.
- Rebooting my printer by:
- Removing the ink cartridges
- Unplugging my printer for 30 seconds
- Plugging back in
- Re-inserting the cartridges.
- Resynching my connection status on hpsmart.com, refreshing the browser, and repeating these two steps over and over.
- Diagnose and Fix on the HP Smart App.
- Virtual Assistant chat.
- Online Troubleshooting.
