I'm connected online and the printer stated that it's ready but all it does is print out a status report. I've had this printer for a little over a year and I can honestly say that I've only printed about 4 pages since I've had it. Now that the warranty has expired and as soon as I stopped ordering ink or paper because I've never really used the printer, it no longer function correctly. I would never recommend HP to my friends or relatives, hope they go out of business. I never read it anywhere on the instructions that you had to continue the ink service in-order for the printer to continue functioning.

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen? Were you previously subscribed to Instant Ink but have canceled the service? If you have Instant Ink cartridges but have canceled your account you will need to replace the Instant Ink cartridges with retail cartridges.
When you sign up for the Instant Ink program you are NOT purchasing ink, you are purchasing a subscription to a set number of pages per month. The ink is supplied, but remains the property of HP and must be returned if you cancel the program in accordance with the terms of service. See sections 5.d and 9.c of the terms of service here.
I am not an employee of HP, I am a volunteer posting here on my own time.
