Hi,
I have an instant ink account (currently paused with 900 rollover pages). My printer broke down and I have purchased a new one that comes with a 3 month trial of instant ink.
How do I register the replacement and benefit from the 3 months trial. Should I un-pause and resume my current instant ink subscription before registering this replacement printer? What is the best way to do this so I maintain my rollover and benefit from 3 free months free.
Thanks
Thanls

Hi @ruby404040,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To transition from your old printer to your new one while maintaining your Instant Ink rollover pages and benefiting from the 3-month trial, follow these steps:
1. Resume Your Current Instant Ink Subscription:
- Log in to your Instant Ink account.
- Navigate to your current subscription and un-pause it. This will ensure that your account is active and your rollover pages are preserved.
2. Register the New Printer:
- Install and set up your new printer following the manufacturer's instructions.
- When prompted to sign up for Instant Ink during the setup, log in with your existing Instant Ink account details.
- Your new printer will be added to your account, and the 3-month trial should automatically apply.
3. Transfer or Combine Plans:
- After adding the new printer, go back to your Instant Ink account.
- You may see an option to transfer the plan to the new printer or combine the plan with the trial.
- If the option to transfer or combine isn't immediately clear, contact HP Instant Ink support to ensure your rollover pages are retained and the 3-month trial is applied correctly.
4. Confirm Rollover Pages:
- After registering the new printer and applying the trial, check your Instant Ink account to ensure that your 900 rollover pages have been retained and added to your new plan.
5. Monitor Your Account:
- Keep an eye on your Instant Ink account in the following days to ensure everything has transferred correctly and that you’re benefiting from the 3-month trial.
Important Notes:
- The 3-month trial may not extend your billing cycle, so be sure to check how the trial is applied.
- If you encounter any issues, contacting HP Instant Ink support is recommended to help resolve them while retaining your rollover pages.
This approach ensures that you don’t lose your rollover pages while also taking advantage of the free trial with your new printer.
