I’m registered for HP smart and my printer is connected,  my printer is saying I’m low on ink but when I log into the app it is saying I’ve only printed 4 pages, when I have printed a lot more, even tho it is saying it has recently been synced.

there is an exclamation mark on my printer, could this be linked ?

            Hello Kev781,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If Device Manager displays an exclamation mark or question mark, This is due to a software or hardware error. Download the full HP driver for your printer. Delete your old driver in Programs and Features. Delete everything related to your printer name in Program and ProgramX86. In Control Panel, in Devices and Printers, delete your printer. Restart the PC. There should no longer be any errors in Device Manager. If so, install the new HP full driver. At the end of the installation, restart the PC.

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

Printer?

Without knowing which of the thousands of printers you have, we must guess about the context of the "error icon" -- :Icon_Alert:

Explanation

Generally, those printers that lack a full service touchpad printer control panel rely on icons, numbers, and flashing lights to communicate what the printer is trying to  say.

An random example to illustrate the error icon and what it can mean:

Product Home = HP DeskJet 2720e All-in-One Printer

Open Category Setup & User Guides

Find and open the user manual:

DeskJet 2720e - User Guide

Open the sample user manual and search it for "error icon".

The source of the error depends on where -- that is, in what combination -- you see the error icon.

For example, the error might indicate trouble with the wireless connection or a paper problem.

Ink related errors are illustrated starting on Page 92.

Is YOUR printer the same as our sample?

Perhaps not-- You can certainly open the user manual for your printer and check the results.

What if?

Regardless of the issue with ink, you can call and talk to Instant Ink Support.
