Is it necessary to have a claim code to receive print cartridges since I am already connected?

I have a hp printer envy model 4520 and I am trying to get info on whether I need to get a claim code in order to receive ink cartridges. I am not too swift in these things, in someone can help I would appreciate it.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Instant Ink enrollment. 

 

Yes, you need a claim code to enroll the printer. 

 

To generate a claim code, try these steps - 

 

1. From the printer control panel display, touch HP Printables.

2. Touch Enable Web Services.

3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.

4. In the Auto Update screen, touch Yes to allow the printer to automatically check for and install product updates.

5. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.

 

After you turn on Web Services, wait for the printer to print an information page containing the printer claim code. Locate the printer claim code on the information sheet. If the information page lists an email such as abc234vbn3434@hpeprint.com, then the printer claim code is the number and characters before @hpeprint.com. For example, abc234vbn3434 would be the printer claim code.
