HP Instant Ink

I feel like every time I try to utilize this service I am ripped off in one form or another

1) It seems that the numerous times I had to cancel print jobs because the printer wasn’t working counted against my pages

 2) I try to use the scan feature today and this new error message I’ve never seen kept coming up (had to resort to using a phone camera to send important documents, which is INSANE)

And now 3) I go to increase my page limit to save myself the bogus extra charges from my stolen rollover pages and apparently a new billing cycle started this morning…it’s supposed to be on the 22nd!

Seriously what am I supposed to do here?? Am I just doomed to this fate of constantly getting ripped off for a terrible product, with getting an entirely new printer from a different maker being the only way to end this aggravation?

i mean the printer frequently jams, freezes, picks up too many sheets (interfering with double sided print needs or printing across 4+ pages rendering the pages useless AND requiring me to print again), it never scans straight from the top loader, picks up multiple pages from the top loader, it gets stuck on jobs… it’s a terrible device (it’s super slow to boot, and its features are lacking). Then I get charged all this money for instant ink subscription services and then when I try to actually make use of it, it wind up paying ridiculous costs (and again, for poor quality print jobs that I cannot use for any professional needs). However, ink I purchase the regular way (not through instant ink) appear to come infuriatingly low.

So seriously, is it possible to not get ripped off without having to buy a whole new device through a different company?
