I moved my printer to a new office and now I can't print anything.  I don't have any instant ink account attached to the printer but the error screen keeps insisting on Instant Ink.

Hi @ranfarmer,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is having trouble with its Instant Ink settings after being moved. This issue can often occur if the printer is trying to connect to the Instant Ink service but can't find it or if there’s a configuration problem. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Restart the Printer and Network

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart Your Router:

  • Unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and let it fully reboot.

2. Check Printer Connections

Ensure Network Connectivity:

  • Verify that the printer is connected to your new network. Go to the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Wireless settings, and ensure it’s connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Reconnect the Printer:

  • If the printer is not connected to the network, reconnect it using the wireless setup wizard on the printer.

3. Manage Instant Ink Settings

Remove Instant Ink Profile:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Manage Ink Cartridges. If you see any options related to Instant Ink, try to remove or reset them.

Access HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Ensure that your printer is correctly added to the app. If not, add it again by following the on-screen instructions.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes firmware updates can resolve issues. Check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.

4. Reinstall Printer Software

  1. Uninstall and Reinstall:
    • On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Remove the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 from the list of printers.
    • Reinstall the printer software from the HP Support website or using the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
