HP Smart Tank Wireless 450
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi,

My HP Smart Tank Wireless 450 printer has recently started to print lines twice, as in overlapping the same line. It seems to print plain word documents fine but as soon as I try and print anything with lines, images, boxes etc on it, it will print it all double and blurred. It also only prints 1 page (the back page) and then comes up with an error as if there is a paper jam when there isn't. Again when it is a plain word document with only letters on the document it prints out clear and fine and all pages print with no errors or paper jam message. It is only happening with any documents that have anything more then just letters on it.

I have gone through the settings and completed the alignment and cleaning of the printer however it is still continuing to do it. Ive also tried unplugging everything and pulling out the ink cartridges and put them back in but still it is continuing to happen.

Can someone please suggest anything else to fix this problem?

Thanks

@Cinkurs, Welcome to HP Support Community!

What happens when you make photocopies?

Ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:

Update printer firmware

Update software on Mac

Remove and add the printer

Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.

Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.

Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then delete the printer.

Select printer and click the minus sign

Click the Plus sign, and then click Add Printer or Scanner.

Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint

Select AirPrint from the Use menu

Click Add to add the printer to the list.

Try to print.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
