First I want to say, this has been a text book example of how NOT to do support. What a mess. 

 

I have a printer that previously belonged to my mother. She recently passed away. I'm not sure if she had InstantInk or not. If so, I need to cancel whatever plan this printer was on. 

 

I also would like to reset the printer before I donate it to charity or chuck it into a landfill. 

 

In either case, these were two very basic and simple questions, the chat bot was completely useless, and the nature of this issue is not something I wanted to share on public forum. But I had no choice. Thanks? Thanks for nuttin'. SMH

The support here is limited and your concern might require one-on-one interaction to assist you further in performing a factory reset.
