Bought new printer, came with 1 year free ink.  Subscribed to HP Instant Ink to take effect after that year.   They immediately sent all new cartridges and said put them in right away.  But the cartridges that came with the printer work fine why not wait until they run out?

Once enrolled, Your Welcome Kit arrives in few days. After that, Instant Ink ships supplies when you need them. 

If your cartridges are working fine, you can continue to use them and then use the shipped cartridges.
