I have just installed a new black HP Instant Ink cartridge 63/302. The ink level on the printer is showing as full, but it just won't print anything. I have followed all the trouble shooting guides on line, have uninstalled and reinstalled print drivers etc, but to no avail. Any ideas?

@NeenieNoo, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone copy in black and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. n the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.

  3. The printer performs the automated cleaning process and then prints a Print Quality Diagnostic page.

    • If the print quality is acceptable, you can stop troubleshooting.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, touch OK for a Second-level Cleaning when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning.

    • NOTE: If the ink cartridge nozzles are badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

Also, perform step 14 mentioned in this document.

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.

Let me know how this goes.
