HP Tango
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi

I just bought a used HP Tango printer that came with instant ink cartridges. I understand that they are essentially licensed to the previous owner, so I am trying to set up a new Instant ink account for myself and my use. Whenever I try to enroll in the program, I get stuck at the point where I’m asked to enter a 16 digit printer code. The printer won’t print because the instant ink cartridges are associated with the previous owners account and they must have canceled the service. Now I am stuck in quite the catch 22 as I can’t seem to figure out how to get rid of the printer wanting to associate itself with the previous owner. I found a place to contact support directly but then I found yet another error message, something about try back later. Hoping someone can help me here. The printer is out of warranty by a couple months, but surely I should be able to use it and buy new ink to use with it!

Thanks so much

Alexander

After hours upon hours I got this sorted out by calling the instant ink customer service phone number. I tried to delete this post but could not.
