No ink and delay delivery?

HP Recommended

I signed up for Instant Ink when I bought an HP printer around a month ago and understood it was going to make life easier with burning through ink; that you receive cartridges before the previous ones run out.

My printer ordered ink about 3 weeks ago and I received an email around 2 weeks ago that ink would be delayed. I still haven't received and can't get through to anyone other than an automated bot that is less than helpful.

Appreciate this must be a problem for everyone, but is there any update on when i might be able to print again? It's all well and good to defer payment for a 3 month period but will I receive any ink before the end of that 3 months? Or is it worth me buying ink separately?
