HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

I have a 3830 officejet printer, enrolled in instant ink program and I’m now out of ink. I’m connected to my Wi-Fi system as I can print from my laptop or iPhone but when I am printing it says I need to be connected, I push connect on the panel, it thinks and then prints the page but has a message that says “connect printer to update HP instant ink access”. I push connect and get “the printer could not connect to the server. Contact the person who set up the printer. Touch print to diagnose the problem or ok to exit” I hit ok, it prints a sheet with local network pass, gateway pass, DNS pass, server fail.
what do I need to do? Thanks

@Jdub69, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand the Instant Ink server is not able to contact the printer.

Restart the wireless router and the printer.

I understand, that is not a communication problem in the home network.

The printer seems reachable from any PC but communication with the Inkjet server failed.

Adding the Printer with the printercode shows "server error. please try again later"

That is my problem and I think its the same the threadopener has

With help of 4 HP tech departments, Cannot print after resetting WiFi connection, shutting all devices off then on, setting up web services and Network Setup. On hold for the 5th Tech and got disconnected.

The HP Office Jet 3830 model I have does not have the eprint icon. Are older models supported? Can this printer work if connected to a router? I received replacement ink Feb 2022. I purchased the printer around Jan 2020 and have only received 3 ink refills.

Messages: PRINTER CANNOT CONNECT TO THE SERVER”  and THE PRINTER COULD NOT RUN THE WEB ACCESS TEST.  Please advise.

3/25/22 A really knowledgeable lady tech advisor suggested I contact my ISP. I did and discovered that my printer was blocked on my Wifi. I blocked it because the printer name was different.   Yipeee I can print🌷
