All of a sudden after canceling my Insta Inc. account I got the HP ink cartridge from the group store and it no longer will print or read the ink cartridge. Is this some kind of scam if you don’t purchase the ink you don’t get to print after you purchase the equipment?

It's highly unlikely that canceling your Instagram account would have any direct impact on the functionality of your HP ink cartridge or printer. Instagram and HP are unrelated services, and actions on one platform should not affect the other.
