HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer

Instaink shipments arrive faster than I can use them resulting in an oversupply of ink.  I cancelled my enrollment to stop the ink but now printer says I cannot print without reenrollment which will mean more ink.

How can I override the system to allow me to use my instaink supplies.

Instaink tells me it is not possible.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Instant Ink is correct --

Instant Ink cartridges only work with an active Instant Ink subscription.

Cancelling the subscription results in all subscription cartridges being locked against use in any printer.

Locking the cartridges after the subscription is terminated is standard procedure.

Another method to have curbed the onslaught of too much ink would have been to contact HP Instant Ink Support   > explain the problem > ask for help.

What?

The ink is sent by an automated system -- when the printer detects the printer needs ink, a notice is sent to the supplier.  The automated system cannot understand if / when there is an error in the process.

If you want to print sooner rather than later,

  • Remove all the Instant Ink / subscription cartridges from the printer
  • Purchase and install a fresh set of HP ink cartridges

If you wish to do so, contact HP Instant Ink Support  about instating your subscription.

Doing so will not unlock the cartridges you have now.
