Paper size error

I can’t seem to get the right size paper on both the printer and my phone. I get an paper error and I’m not entirely sure how to fix it.

What if it stays weird?

HP Smart for Mobile is not as smart as the version that runs in Windows.  This does not mean you cannot use the mobile version, just be aware that not everything you can do in the more robust Windows version of the application is also available in the mobile app.

The tiny phone screen is perhaps not best suited to some of the checks - that said, you can check / adjust the paper loaded in the printer using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) and you can certainly submit a job to print a document or photo.

Start EWS from your browser:

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Click Apply to save changes

Start EWS from within HP Smart for Mobile

Open HP Smart for Mobile

Settings wheel > Add / Set Up a Printer > Advanced Settings

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

The tricky part, if there is one, is that HP Smart for Mobile doesn't support every paper size and it has limitations on how you can resize the size of a print on the paper.
