On Saturday July 15, I contacted HP instant ink because my printer wasn't working. An agent answered after the standard recording and asked to remotely access my computer to see what the trouble was with the printer. This agent stayed on the line for about 12 mins and said there were updates that needed to be installed on my computer. Since it was taking awhile, he would call me back once it finished. The agent called me back and stated the update was done. However, while he was on the phone, I noticed I was getting pop ups from my bank cards. I immediately started to check. I had to stop my lock my cards as money was being stolen and electronic gift cards were being purchased. I contacted HP a few days later as the agent said he would have a supervisor contact me. No one did, so I called back. I was then told that there wasn't another note on the account, the "so called" agent gave me a fake reference number, the ink he was suppose to send out wasn't sent, and the number he called from wasn't theirs. HP still hasn't contacted me about the incident. I called HP, so no one contacted me. Someone was either there at the call center or someone intercepted the call. Either way, I haven't heard back from HP about this issue. I am concerned because this person likely stole information from y computer. I am unsure if this agent placed spyware or something else on my computer. This situation is very frustrating and scary. Is there a number to research HP to look into this matter? Thanks.

Unfortunate.
I am sorry this happened.
The only thing we can do from this side is to forward your concern to our Moderator team.
I will do that as soon as this message is posted.
All the rest...
You were not talking to HP - not HP Support and not HP Instant Ink Support.
Whomever you contacted was not HP.
Because the breach was especially egregious, contact your Bank - submit a fraud claim.
Change all your passwords.
Consider that anything on the computer that is not encrypted and where the thief had access is compromised.
There is no way to know who you contacted - no, do not post the link or number, thanks.
There are thousands of "support" sites on the Internet.
Every major company, including HP, is plagued by scam sites that promise, beg, threaten, or pretend to be the good guys.
HP Support does not post free-to-find phone numbers on the Internet.
HP Support does not transfer you to scammers and thieves,
HP Support does not threaten, promise, lie, beg, or cajole,

Reminders - READ
Case submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.
Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online
Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty. Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.
HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.
If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.
Important
HP Phone numbers you find on the Internet have likely been hijacked. Old HP phone numbers – those numbers no longer used by HP since the move to “online” case submissions – might have been taken over by thieves.
Do not be a victim.
Stay vigilant.
