I have had a subscription and found it did not use the amount of ink or paper that was sent each month, so I cancelled it. I would like to use the remainder of that for which I’ve already paid. Please advise on how to do thos

Hi @Brilliant21,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out — I completely understand your concern and appreciate you taking the time to explain your situation.

When an HP Instant Ink subscription is cancelled, the Instant Ink cartridges provided through the service are deactivated and can no longer be used for printing. These special cartridges are designed to work exclusively while the subscription is active, as they communicate with the HP Instant Ink system to track ink levels and usage.

Although it may feel frustrating to have unused ink remaining, this is part of how the program ensures fairness and consistent service for all customers. As per the program policy, any unused ink in these subscription cartridges cannot be transferred, refunded, or used after cancellation.

We kindly ask that you return the Instant Ink cartridges to HP for recycling. And if you want to buy regular HP Ink cartridges for printing, we can help you buy them. Let us know.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
