Good morning! I recently purchased a black ink cartridge from a near by target. I came home inserted the ink cartridge as I normally would, but my printer kept saying there was an error with ink cartridge and i had to re-insert again. So I did, thinking I might have not done it correctly. Once again, my printer gave me the same error. I referred to HP virtual assistance, which suggested for me to turn off printer. Unplug from power circuit, turn on printer, still nothing. I also tried cleaning ink cartridge with slightly damp fabric, as suggested by virtual assistant, nothing. I'm afraid of doing/trying anything else with some type of guidance, wouldn't want to end up without a functioning printer either. If anyone has came across this issue, that could potentially fixed the issues. I would really appreciate it, since I wasn't able to get through to customer service rep.

  • To assist you better, what model printer are you using?
  • Which ink cartridge is indicated in the error?
  • This printer supports printing in single-cartridge mode. Try removing the defective ink cartridge and print with the other one to check if that works.
