Hi @Uma_hari,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

No, it's not mandatory to enroll in the HP Instant Ink plan to use your printer. HP Instant Ink is a subscription service that automatically sends you ink cartridges when your printer is running low, based on the number of pages you print. If you don't want to use this service, you can certainly continue using your printer without enrolling in the Instant Ink plan.

Here are some general steps you can follow to use your printer without the Instant Ink plan:

Cancel Instant Ink Enrollment: If you've already enrolled in the Instant Ink plan and want to cancel it, you can do so through the Instant Ink website or by contacting HP customer support.

Replace Cartridges Manually: When your printer runs out of ink, you can manually purchase replacement cartridges from various retailers or directly from HP. Make sure to buy the correct cartridges that are compatible with your printer model.

Disable Automatic Firmware Updates: Some users have reported issues with using non-Instant Ink cartridges after a firmware update. You can check your printer settings to see if there's an option to disable automatic firmware updates. However, keep in mind that disabling updates may have other consequences, such as missing out on important security patches or new features.

Check Printer Compatibility: Ensure that the replacement cartridges you purchase are compatible with your specific printer model. The printer's manual or HP's website can provide information about compatible cartridges.

Remove Instant Ink Cartridges: If your printer comes with Instant Ink cartridges, you may need to replace them with regular cartridges. Follow your printer's manual for instructions on how to replace cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
