I have had my printer for over a year if not two. I am enrolled in instant ink. I was printing a couple of pages yesterday for an application and the printer stopped printing with an error in the middle (error cant print or error code on printer). The information "I" started blinking and orange light in front.

Tried everything from switching networks to multiple restarts with no luck. Went on the HP account and it just says there's a problem. No way to call customer service or reach someone since the warranty is expired. I canceled the HP instant ink program from my account, and delete the printer.

 

Decided to factory reset, remove the hp instant ink and install my old ink. Now it's stuck at registering with HP - error (OW_4XX_OWSWS00001). I can connect to the printer web portal on the local network but I get this message when I click on check for updates "The printer is unable to connect to the server. Check the internet connection." even after factory reset.

I see that you are facing cartridge issues.

 

Request you to update printer firmware. Kindly refer to the steps on this link and let me know if that fixes the issue.

Please ensure to use non-instant ink cartridges.

The Firmware was up to date. I removed the HP Instant ink. I installed my personal ink. Canceled my HP Instant ink subscription. And it started working the next day.
